Miss Dark Side of the Moon

I have a gotten some practice in on drawing. One of my instruction books has a very simple intro. pamphlet for Manga Comics. It showed a few techniques for drawing faces. I used the techniques with my own warped spin on them to create my current Facebook image and these images that are included with this post. For those who visit to view the contestants, I would like to ask them to choose which one they like best. Linda Lunar's image was actually taken from the sunlit side of the moon to take advantage of, well, the light. Her twin sister Lisa Lunar posed on the dark side, which is certainly more representative of the theme of the contest.

Meanwhile, I am finally back to working on my journal now. Some of the elements for the first page were completed today. They were fashioned from drawings and cardstock cutouts. I plan to use a lot of mixed media elements and techniques, although they will be simplified examples in a lot of cases. I have to keep in mind that this is my maiden voyage and to not get carried away and frustrated. A lot of my next efforts at this are simply going to be gathering materials together that I want to use or think I might use.
