The Drawing Process

I thought I would show this partially completed stage of the Connecticut ATC.  My motive for doing this is to show some of the technique that I am using.  I started with a very rough sketch of the bird.  This is done mainly to get a ballpark estimate for placements of sizes, angles, and proportions of various segments.  As you can see, this is a ballpark guess of say Cowboy Stadium size.  The point, however, is to gauge angles, sizes and proportions beforehand. For me, these are the most difficult aspects of drawing an accurate representation of the subject matter.   On past projects, errors in these specific areas have led to major do-overs and frustrations.  The rough sketch technique has been working pretty well so far on this project.  Stay tuned!
